SEATTLE & FORT COLLINS ... Seattle Cider Company and New Belgium Brewing are excited to announce a new partnership, bringing the expanding cidery’s craft cider to Fort Collins. As New Belgium’s first wholesale partner, all of Seattle Cider Company’s offerings will be distributed by the New Belgium Brewing sales force, available in both package and draft. Currently available in the Denver area, the growing cidery’s nearly entire year round, limited and seasonal lineup will be available in the greater Fort Collins area beginning August 21.
“I’ve admired New Belgium Brewing and their approach to craft for as long as I’ve been in this business,” said Joel VandenBrink, founder and CEO of Seattle Cider Company and Two Beers Brewing. “We’re thrilled to work with them to bring craft cider to their city and can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us.”
“We’ve always had a lot of respect for Seattle Cider as a company and their ciders are top notch,” said New Belgium Spokesman Bryan Simpson. “This distribution partnership allows us to maximize space on delivery trucks already in Fort Collins, so we can realize greater efficiency in our fleet all while helping out a like-minded company.”
Known for its handcrafted collection of dry, flavorful ciders – successfully bridging the gap between beer and wine – Seattle Cider Company offerings are made from 100 percent fresh-pressed Washington apples, gluten free and never from concentrate. Scheduled to be available in 16-ounce cans, 22-ounce bottles and on draft throughout the Fort Collins area, initial Seattle Cider Co. offerings will include:
Dry: Dry and pleasantly acidic, flavors of nectarine and under ripe peach hit the palate with no residual sweetness. One of the driest ciders on the market. 0 brix, 6.5% ABV, 16-ounce can, draft.
Semi-Sweet: A light, crisp cider with just a touch of sweetness, this cider is honey in color with notes of orange, lemon and apple. A refreshing cider, it reveals hints of apricot on the palate. 2.6 brix, 6.5% ABV, 16-ounce can, draft.
Pumpkin Spice: This semi-sweet cider is copper in color and perfect for fall. Fermented with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves, it offers hints of the season's favorite spices followed by just a touch of pumpkin. 2.6 brix, 6.9% ABV, 16-ounce can, draft.
Three Pepper: A small-batch, limited-edition cider, the Three Pepper features an aroma of fresh, green jalapeños. Paired with a unique flavor profile, it combines the taste of poblano, habanero and jalapeño peppers, giving this cider a kick followed by a subtly sweet finish. 2.6 brix, 6.9% ABV, 22-ounce bottle, draft.
Gin Botanical: Fermented with spent gin botanicals from Batch 206 Distillery, our Gin Botanical is a semi-dry cider showcasing lemon, orange rind, juniper, cucumber and verbena. Like the spirit that inspired it, this cider is complex, clean, aromatic and refreshing. 1.8 brix, 6.9% ABV, 22-ounce bottle, draft.
To celebrate its Fort Collins launch, the Seattle Cider Company and New Belgium teams will be hosting tastings and events throughout the area the week of August 21. Keep an eye on Seattle Cider Company social media pages for details on where to find the team and their cider!
