This unique and flavorful cider was created using toasted oak chips and real Vermont maple syrup, pulling in all the flavors of the season with just a touch of sweetness. Oaked Maple takes over for fall seasonal Pumpkin Spice, joining the cidery’s three year round and two limited edition ciders on shelves across the country beginning November 13.
“I tell people Oaked Maple is like the bourbon of ciders,” said Brent Miles, head cidermaker at Seattle Cider Company. “There’s an aroma of oak, followed by the flavor of fresh-pressed Washington apples and a hint of maple at the end. It’s complex and incorporates everything I love about winter.”
A semi-sweet cider, Seattle Cider’s Oaked Maple offers a subtle aroma and flavor of oak, thanks to the toasted oak chips added straight into the tank during fermentation. Allowing for the apples to show through on the start, this cider finishes slightly sweet with the flavor of Vermont maple syrup rounding out this delicious cider. Offering a 6.9 ABV and just 1.8 Brix, this dark-hued cider is available in 22-ounce bottles and on draft through February.
In Seattle, a special addition to Seattle Cider Company’s winter lineup includes Cranberry, a limited edition cider made with organic cranberries from Washington state’s first organic cranberry farm, Starvation Alley. Featuring a deep pink hue with 0 Brix and a 6.9 percent ABV, Seattle Cider Company’s new Cranberry cider is completely dry, pleasantly tannic and the perfect amount of tart. Available through the end of December in 22-ounce bottles in the cidery’s home market, Cranberry offers the perfect pairing for holiday meals and festivities.
Seattle Cider’s full lineup of offerings breaks the mold of overly sweet cider, bringing the natural flavors of Washington apples to the forefront. Naturally gluten free and made from a custom blend of fresh pressed, Washington apples, Seattle Cider’s products are handcrafted with real ingredients, never from concentrate and free from artificial flavorings.
