Hood River, Ore. – January 26, 2017 – Cider lovers should mark their calendars for April 22, 2017 when the Hood River Chamber of Commerce hosts the fourth annual Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest. More than 20 cideries will serve up 40 different ciders, giving people the chance to sample select 2017 offerings from Hood River County’s very own cider makers, as well as a variety of additional Northwest cideries. The full list of participating cideries will be available at HoodRiver.org in early March.
Due to its popularity, the Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest is growing its footprint in 2017. In addition to the large covered hall, the venue will include now include outdoor tents and increased seating. All areas of the event are now open to all ages.
Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest is the centerpiece of Hood River Valley Blossom Time, a month-long celebration of the beauty and agricultural heritage of the area. April visitors can enjoy family-friendly farm events, craft shows, culinary treats and wine and cider tasting. One of the best ways to enjoy Blossom Time is to drive theHood River County Fruit Loop, a gorgeous 35-mile drive that follows the county’s Scenic Tour Route and passes the valley’s plethora of orchards, wineries and farms.

“With 14,000 acres of orchards in the Hood River Valley, it’s fitting that the Gorge has 16 cideries and counting,” said Mike Glover, CEO, Hood River County Chamber of Commerce. “Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest is the best opportunity to sample the expansive list of ciders produced by local and Pacific Northwest craft cideries in a beautiful setting among the blossoming orchard trees. The festival is growing in concert with our booming cider industry, and we expect this year to be the biggest one to date.”
In addition to sampling numerous ciders, festival-goers can feast on local food provided by some of Hood River’s favorite local restaurants. The day-long event also features a lineup of local live music, a craft and farmers market, and a kids’ area.
