8/9 Summer Cider Day at the Northwest Maritime Center

The diversity of Pacific Northwest craft hard ciders will be showcased on August 9 at the Northwest Cider Association's fourth annual Summer Cider Day in Port Townsend, Washington. Summer Cider Day is the Northwest Cider Association's largest  event of the year, and has helped to establish the Northwest as a nationally recognized cider region. This year’s tasting is at the Northwest Maritime Center.

Summer Cider Day offers over more than 70 different varieties of hard cider and features 21 regional cidermakers from Washington, Oregon, Montana and British Columbia, Entertainment is by local musicians Brother Townsend.  Food for purchase will be available from Sirens Pub.  

Admission price is $25 per person in advance, or $30 at the door. Event ticket price includes admission, 10 tasting tickets, and a keepsake Northwest Cider Association glass.  Ticket prices for attendees under 21 or for designated drivers are $5 at the door; these tickets do not include tasting tickets or the keepsake glass. Additional tasting tickets will be available for purchase, and a cider shop will be on the premises. Hours for the festival are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.  A VIP tasting hour from 11 a.m. – 12 noon is planned for NWCA members, sponsors, and media. Tickets may be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets. Sponsors are Capitol Cider, FruitSmart and Ryan’s Fresh Fruit Juice.

The Northwest Cider Association is a trade organization formed by cider producers throughout the Pacific Northwest to promote awareness of regional artisanal ciders.
