Angry Orchard Hard Cider is thrilled to announce the release of its spring and summer seasonal Elderflower Hard Cider. Inspired by the European tradition of elderflower cordials (a recipe that can be traced back to Roman times), this cider balances elderflower’s subtle floral notes and tropical fruitiness with Angry Orchard’s crisp apple sweetness.
The following is a sponsored post and in no way has been altered from its original.
Now that we’ve officially turned the corner towards sunny skies and warmer weather, Angry Orchard’s Elderflower Hard Cider is the answer to enjoying the season’s great outdoors while quenching your thirst.
Angry Orchard Elderflower is great on its own, but it is also delicious in cocktails for those looking to mix things up. Elderflower as an ingredient has become a runway hit in mixology over the past couple of years. So much so, that we tapped Hayley Jensen, a mixologist at Taproom No. 307 in New York City, to come up with a couple of cocktail recipe suggestions highlighting the new Elderflower Hard Cider from Angry Orchard. Orchard Spritzer
Ingredients
- 4 oz lychee juice/puree
- 4 oz Angry Orchard Elderflower Cider
Mixology: Simply pour both over ice into a pint glass. This drink is really versatile in terms of spirit. Any white liquor, such as rum, gin, vodka, or even tequila complements this drink nicely.
Angry ElderBerry Mojito

- 1 oz white rum
- 4 slices strawberry
- 4 blueberries
- 4 mint leaves
- 6 oz (1/2 bottle) Elderflower Cider
Mixology: Muddle berries & mint in AO Pint. Fill glass with ice. Add rum & cider. Pour into mixing cup & stir. Pour back into AO Pint & garnish w/ strawberry.
While delicious all on its own, you can also enjoy this seasonal cider when paired with smoked salmon, braised pork or even a delicious fresh berry dish at your next al fresco gathering for a festive summer win.
More about Elderflower
Golden brown and slightly sparkling, this medium-bodied cider has a bright, fruity flavor that balances elderflower’s subtle floral notes and tropical fruitiness, reminiscent of lychee, pears and citrus, with Angry Orchard’s crisp apple sweetness
Angry Orchard Now Exploring American Apples:
Our cider makers have experimented with different apple varieties and fermentation methods for almost 20 years, looking to perfect the craft of cider making. Throughout this experimentation, they found that the sweet, juicy profile of apples from Washington State lend to that perfectly balanced fresh apple flavor.
Spring/summer seasonal cider, Elderflower, fall/winter seasonal Cinnful Apple and year-round cider Green Apple, are all made with American culinary apples. Certain regions within the United States, such as the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast, share characteristics – like their rich soil and ample sunshine – with the apple growing regions of France and Italy where apples were harvested to make Angry Orchard’s other core cider styles. The cider makers at Angry Orchard found that slightly less tannic juice from culinary apples from Washington State in harmony with the fermentation process created the perfect aroma, body and flavor for Elderflower.
